Liverpool defeated Arsenal 3-1, and a foul by Reds forward Mane caused controversy.
In the short-term scramble, Mane chased the ball side by side with Arsenal defender Tierney. The Reds forward propped up his left elbow and hit the opponent's face. Tierney fell to the ground in pain and the referee showed Mane a yellow card.
The British media believed that this was an obvious elbow injury, and Mane should be sent off by a red card. The Sky Sports Premier League Twitter account wrote: "Maybe Mane deserves a red card this time?"
Mane, who remained on the field, scored an equalizer goal for Liverpool in the first half, leading the team to a 3-1 victory.
